As far as the skin is concerned, every injury results in collagen being produced. More collagen results in tighter, thicker skin.
Numbing cream is applied to the skin to make the treatment comfortable. The dermaroller is a little drum with multiple short needles on it, and it is rolled over the surface of the skin to cause thousands of tiny injuries that can’t be seen with the naked eye. But the skin knows what happened, it goes to work laying down collagen at each site of needle penetration.
Concerns to be treated include fine lines and wrinkles, scars both from acne pitting and from traumatic injuries, large pores, pigmentation problems, and even stretch marks. Since the healing process can progress for a few months, results take time to see, and multiple treatments result in continued improvement.
